 She’s not like other moons :

Meet Ganymede—the large moon that orbits a large planet. Dwarfing even Pluto and Mercury, Ganymede is the biggest moon in the entire solar system. Though it’s just one of Jupiter’s dozens of moons, it is far from unremarkable.



Here are a few reasons why it’s a special moon:


- There’s strong evidence of a saltwater ocean beneath its surface that might hold more water than Earth’s surface.


- It might have a tenuous oxygen atmosphere.
- It’s the only known moon to have a magnetic field.


- It might have potential for life.
