THIS IS WHAT THE SOLAR ECLIPSE LOOKED LIKE... FROM SPACE
This is what the solar eclipse looked like... from space:
On Oct. 14, 2023, the Moon aligned with the Sun and Earth to produce an annular solar eclipse. The Moon cast a shadow on millions of Americans as it blocked the Sun’s rays.
The solar eclipse kicked off the "Heliophysics Big Year," a global celebration of solar science and the Sun’s influence on everything it touches.
From October 2023 to December 2024, you'll have the opportunity to participate in many events, such as watching solar eclipses, experiencing an aurora, participating in science projects, and other fun Sun-related activities. Learn more at go.nasa.gov/HelioBigYear
Image description: In the darkness of space, Earth shines as a bright blue marble with white, swirly clouds. North and South America are visible as brown and green land masses. A dark patch, the lunar shadow, covers most of North America.
