Jupiter is a swirl’s best friend 🌀

Jupiter is a swirl’s best friend :

Jupiter’s massive storms swirl and churn in the gassy planet’s atmosphere, creating dramatic bands that wrap around the planet. These storms reach depths of 2,000 miles (3,200 km) deep within the planet, moving in east-west directions and move up to 335 mph (539 kph).

Our #JunoMission captured this image of Jupiter’s northern hemisphere as it sailed over the planet between 11,600 miles (18,600 km) and 5,400 miles (8,600 km) above Jupiter’s cloud tops. Juno continues to study Jupiter and its moons, giving scientists insights into worlds beyond our own.
